WHO WE ARE

Who We Are

The Niranjan Avhad Foundation for the Disabled was established on January 17, 2018, born from a place of deep compassion and resilience. Our story began with a profound loss—the passing of Niranjan, a young man who inspired his mother, Jyoti Avhad, to dedicate her life to making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. In his memory, we carry forward a mission of hope and empowerment, working tirelessly to support those with multiple disabilities to live dignified, self-reliant lives.

Our organization provides a lifeline for individuals with a broad range of challenges, including deafblindness, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome. Through our main initiative, the Niranjan Multiple Disability Center, we offer specialized education, skill training, rehabilitation, and employment opportunities. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to learn, grow, and be recognized for their abilities, not their limitations.

Guided by the Disability Act 2016, our objectives include:

  • Education and Training: Equipping individuals with the skills they need for self-reliance and confidence.
  • Rehabilitation and Empowerment: Providing therapeutic and life-skills programs to support holistic development.
  • Employment Support: Partnering with communities to create work opportunities that enable independence.
  • Awareness and Advocacy: Building community understanding of the capabilities and needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Healthcare and Respite Care: Offering community-based health initiatives and safe, nurturing residential facilities for individuals with high-support needs.

Through seminars, training programs, and community outreach, we are changing perceptions and creating an inclusive society that values each life. Driven by our founder’s vision and her 25 years of experience, the Niranjan Avhad Foundation continues to strive toward a future where every individual, regardless of disability, can experience joy, purpose, and belonging.
